"THREADS" - 1985

One of several small (20-40 kiloton) bombs that fall on an English city in a world nuclear war.

Firestorm...

Death in the ruins.

Rats feast in the ruins.

75% of homes in Britain uninhabitable

Man seeking water finds it running
onto charred head in rubble.

Those who found shelter contend with
thousands of these when they come out.

Food riots as world's 30 day supply begins to run out.

Soldier loots a looter he just shot.

Dog eats human remains in a damaged home.

"THE DAY AFTER" - 1983

Kansas City football fans watch in horror as missiles leave for Russia; return fire will arrive in another 30 minutes.

Just two of the couple dozen bombs that hit the Kansas City area.  (These one or two megaton.)

A classroom as bomb first explodes overhead...

is skeletonized and then evaporated...

I now pronounce you man and....

Heat sets person on fire even before
the fireball reaches him.

The fireball overtakes family hoping to escape before they even get in the truck.

Hundreds of millions of living rooms...

Firestorm...

Death in the ruins...

Everywhere...

But that doesn't stop the looters...

Twenty miles from ground zero.

Ground zero a month later, total destruction; gas still burns from pipes that one entered homes.
