1982 – “No Nations, No Nukes”

Compilation of photos from the 40th Anniversary of the Nuclear Disarmament March.

In 1982 a coalition of anti-authoritarians, anarchists, syndicalists and libertarians created a “No Nations No Nukes” contingent for the June 12, 1992 New York City Nuclear Disarmament March. It drew one million people. Below are photos of the march and of the group’s activities including tabling at a forum and burning the flags of all nations at the United nations. The latter drew a lot of press who were disappointed at our tiny flags.

Carol Moore (in pink) brought her guitar and we sang her song “No Nations No Nukes” as we marched behind our banner. We got quite a high singing it as we strode past the United Nations building with the rest of the million peaceniks. See my music video of the song on youtube.
